“I just finished reading Forgiven Much and wanted to commend it . . . her writing is timeless . . . most of all her story made the crucifixion and resurrection come alive to me. I know this work will help many, so I will be taking copies of her book with me on retreat ministry to offer as resources so others can experience what I have!”

This book [The Making of an Orphan] truly touched my heart.
I related so much to this author. This book is beautifully written and is a very personal testimony. I understand what it's like to be the "IP" or "Identified Person." I finally had a name for this! Bringing light to the subject of this kind of abuse, neglect, and blame is so important and I am very thankful to have found this book. Reading it was, for me, very healing. I highly recommend it and I look forward to her next!

In her sequel to The Making of an Orphan, Dean bravely invites readers in . . . into her painful choices and missed opportunities. Into betrayals and heartache. Not just once but over and over. The ups and downs of her adult life exemplify the pervasiveness of unaddressed intergenerational trauma. Dean writes with a rare vulnerability that engages readers' intrigue, weaving in therapeutic insights that lance open the inner workings that drove her.

Testimonials from Clients
Leslie taught me that healing takes work. It also requires being able to recognize that there is a problem. She has shown over and over again to be excellent at identifying the signs that there is trauma. Leslie's experiences outlined in her books, paired with her extensive knowledge, gained through personal development and traditional education makes her one of the very best life coaching counselors I've ever encountered. Her ability to identify trauma and help reframe those experiences in an understanding Christ- centered, honest manner is remarkable. There is so much that she has already done and that she is doing every day to bring healing to the hurting. I'm so thankful for what she has been able to do in my life, as well as helping me gain a closer relationship with the Lord and living in the fullness of who He has created me to be!
During the 12 years I have been Leslie’s client, she has faithfully accompanied me through the processing and integration of the most traumatic periods and events of my life, including intergenerational and childhood traumas. With great compassion and empathy, she asks just the right questions, listens intently, and uses her God–given gift of speaking truth to equip me with tools tailored to my needs. For instance, as one who has greatly struggled to verbalize my internal world (thoughts, feelings, desires, or motives), I have learned the value of my words and benefited greatly from the practice of journaling, which Leslie has encouraged me to do for over a decade now. I have gained immense validation and genuine confidence to express myself without fear of judgment. I trust the wisdom she shares with me, as her life exemplifies a life lived surrendered to the only One who has the power, love, and willingness to heal my soul – and yours.
My husband and I met with Leslie for pre-marital counseling leading up to our wedding. We are so thankful for everything we learned from her during this process. Leslie is very understanding, fair and full of knowledge. She truly has helped our relationship improve and strengthen as we start our lifelong journey together. Leslie worked with us every week on varying relationship topics and provided us great expertise and advice in each area from communication to love languages, finances and so much more. My husband and I would 100% recommend Leslie to any couple looking for relationship advice or counseling. She is amazing and so helpful!
I have been in counseling with Leslie for several years. She has helped me through so much from personal counseling, to pre-marital counseling, and then to marriage counseling. She is always available for me and has amazing knowledge, love and counsel. She guides me, helps me to get on the correct path, and I am now even journaling (which I never thought I would love so much). Most of all, I am growing through it all.
I am now reading one of Leslie's books and I think she is so amazing because of all she, herself, has gone through. I look forward to every session with her. She always prays with me at the end of each session, and when we are done I have peace. Also, my daughter has just gotten married, and she and my new son-in-law did pre-marital counseling with Leslie. I could see how much they were growing with her help.
I love Leslie. She is a great person, and I would recommend anyone to her.
Leslie was an amazing support for me during a very difficult time. She helped me to see that I am a strong, intelligent, creative person that has a lot of empathy for others and who hasn’t even tapped into what I can be. I have been living behind what others think of me my whole life because I didn’t want to argue. I am now working on speaking my truth and taking care of me, so that I can be the best wife and mom I can be.
Thank you, Leslie, for celebrating me when others I loved couldn’t. I will be forever grateful.
I have known Leslie Dean for 8 years. We connected as leaders of separate regional singles ministries. In recent years, Leslie has become a leader in Singlefaith, the ministry I founded in the Mid-Atlantic area. She has attended most of our functions, helped plan numerous events, and has led workshops at Singlefaith retreats for the past 5 years.
She has presented a 2-day conference on relationship issues for Christian singles. Leslie has helped many Singlefaith members work through some of their struggles with singleness, and with past or new relationships. On the personal side, she has given me much wise advice and insight, which I have applied to navigating the dating process. Her suggestions and instructions are always based on solid biblical knowledge. Many Singlefaith members have enjoyed reading Leslie's books and learning from the life story she tells.
In 2024, Singlefaith recommended Leslie to the group as a whole, to serve as a wise counselor and coach to discuss issues and concerns they are experiencing. Leslie has been an asset to me as the Executive Director of Singlefaith, and I enthusiastically recommend her to anyone seeking relationship counseling, life coaching, or trauma informed care.

Transformative and Compassionate Guidance
Over the past 15 years I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to work with Leslie Dean who has been my Christian counselor. Working with Leslie has been a life-changing experience for me.
From the first session, I felt truly seen and heard. Leslie brought a unique blend of professionalism, empathy, and faith-based wisdom to every interaction.
What stood out to me was her ability to integrate Biblical principles with practical tools for emotional and spiritual growth. Whether we were exploring Scripture, unpacking past hurts, or
discussing actionable strategies for daily challenges, I always left our sessions feeling more grounded and hopeful.
Leslie created a safe space where I could be vulnerable without fear of judgment. She patiently guided me through moments of doubt and encouraged me to trust God's plan for my life. I
appreciated how she balanced her faith-based approach with psychological expertise, tailoring her methods to meet my specific needs.
Since starting counseling, I’ve seen tremendous growth in my life, relationships, my ability to manage stress, and my spiritual journey. I would highly recommend Leslie to anyone seeking a
counselor as she approaches her work with integrity, compassion, and faith.
My history as Leslie’s client began over 15 years ago. During tumultuous times in my life, Leslie has been a source of truth for me and a rock of validation. Her experiential and professional understanding and insight have helped me unweave the complex web of childhood traumas. As I have sought healing from the impact of these traumas, she has helped closed the gaps in my understanding of these negative experiences. She always goes a step further, providing spiritual and emotional tools to maintain truth in my life — truth I can cling to that exposes and interrupts unhealthy patterns. My gratitude toward her cannot be expressed in words but the God Who Sees will speak for me and move on my behalf to bless her, turn His face towards her showing her favor, and rewarding her with an eternal joy.
